It's 2017, I was studying pre-med in one of the best universities in my country. I wouldn't get into much detail... I just really hated the hell out of it.
I felt that it wasn't for me, so I quit. My parents were furious. They stopped talking to me, stopped sending me money, and I had to move out of the place they were paying rent for.
So I started working, due to necessity.Â
I was working a low-paying 9-5 job at age 19. The allowance I used to get from my parents was 3x what I was making at work. I had to change my lifestyle, learn to commute, learn how to pay rent and bills, etc.
I knew I could just apologize and go back to normal. I could continue the educational opportunity I was given. I could just follow the path that my parents have created for me.
But, for the first time ever, I felt freedom. I finally heard myself. I have finally realized what I wanted.
Growing up, I was never really given a choice in anything - school, friends, degree, career... So when I finally felt INDEPENDENCE - I still remember the feeling to this day - I said, "I am never giving this up for anything!"

- Started as a customer service representative on my first job. Less than 6 months since I got hired, I was promoted to a Digital Media Specialist (youngest member of the "elite" team at age 19)
- Went back to school (studying what I want - Business major in Computer Applications) and graduated with a 3.5 GPA! During this time, I also worked as a part-time English tutor to Japanese professionals in my first year, and a full-time VA (9-5 job) in my senior year.
- Since that first ever VA gig, I've gotten the chance to work with brands in several different industries. I knew that this was something I wanted to pursue.
